As a **Part-Time Awake Overnight Behaviour Support Worker **for our Special Needs therapeutic program **in Delta**,** you will have the opportunity to be a part of a team that provides support, care, and mentorship to young adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and special needs in a therapeutic home setting. The line is **32 hours/week, Sunday-Wednesday, 11pm-7am Awake Overnight shifts.**
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in related field and/or equivalent experience working with young adults with ASD and special needs
- Minimum one year of experience working with non-verbal young adults with ASD and behavioural challenges
- Ability to set and maintain firm boundaries with clients
- Effective de-escalation and crisis management skills
- Ability to follow behavioural support plans
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development consolidated check (takes up to 6 weeks to process so please plan accordingly)
- Minimum Class 7N BC Driver's License (Class 5 preferred) and acceptable driving record
- Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination record or exemption from the provincial health authority
**A sample of what you’ll be doing**:
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
- Building positive working relationships with the client, family, community members, and other professionals involved in the care team
- Encouraging and modeling acceptable social standards and setting appropriate boundaries
- Engaging in frequent interaction with clients, using appropriate means of communication
- Facilitating recreational and/or educational activities
- Attending school meetings and case conferences when required
- Performing household maintenance duties, preparing meals, administering medication, and assisting clients with personal care as needed
- Collaborating with the clinical team and providing input into assessments and care plans
**Salary**: $21.68-$23.50/hour plus benefits
