Child & Youth Programs Assistant (Summer Student)

Youth & Family is seeking a Summer Student for a temporary, full-time position (35 hours per week) as a **Child & Youth Programs Assistant**for a period of 8 weeks from June 30/25 - August 22/25. This position pays an hourly rate of $22.50. This role may occasionally include weekend and evening work.

Reliable transportation required.

**Duties**:The Child & Youth Programs Assistant will assist in the planning and facilitation of current Youth & Family children’s programs offering summer activities including, but not limited to, Early Years & ORCA Bus, Youth Resource Centre and the Family Centre Library. They will create an atmosphere of inclusiveness, community building and engagement of all summer program participants, including children and adults.
- Be aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job;
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and
- Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. International students and other temporaryresidents of Canada are not eligible.
- Provision of a satisfactory Criminal Record Check is mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills, a non-judgmental manner and the ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
