Atwell Centre: Pregnancy Options Support (Atwell) is a pregnancy care centre located in downtown Hamilton and Halton. We provide education, caring support and give practical assistance to women and their partners as they face important decisions about their unplanned pregnancy and sexual integrity. Our services consist of pregnancy options counselling, post-abortion recovery workshops, post-adoption grief counselling, male mentoring, a clothing room for maternity and children's clothing, and a community educational program, S.H.A.R.E. Atwell offers an environment where people make a difference in the lives of women, men, families, and students in our community.

**Position Overview**

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the social worker provides individual and group services to women and men at Atwell Centre - Hamilton and Atwell Centre - Halton. The social worker is responsible for facilitating the Post Abortion Support (PAS) and Stabilization Counselling programs at both locations. This includes coordinating and facilitating grief groups for post-abortive women, as well as providing psychosocial and mental health assessments to Atwell Centre clients referred to the social worker by other centre personnel. The social worker will develop client-centred goals and treatment plans with clients based on the psychosocial assessments.

Centre Manager (Hamilton & Halton)
Nurse Manager (Hamilton & Halton)

**Other Details**
- Part-Time: 16 - 24 hours a week; min. 8 hours at each location.
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Starting Hourly Pay Rate: $23 - $25/hour

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Expresses full agreement with centre’s Purpose, Mission and Vision Statements, the Sanctity of Human Life Statement, the Statement of Faith and Core Values.
- Expresses full agreement with Clinic’s _Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct_ and _Lifestyle Standards _Policy.
- Registered and in good standing with the Ontario college of their profession
- Working knowledge of coping techniques for stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma disorders, including CBT and mindfulness
- Ability to provide both individual and group counselling
- Experience in grief and crisis counselling
- Experience in spiritual counselling, advising, or mentorship
- Basic knowledge of the indicators of mental illnesses
- Knowledge of trauma theory
- Maintain accurate and timely records
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
