The Building Operator will participate in all aspects of Rogers Arena's preventative maintenance program and installation and operation of the ice sheet. This includes lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, and all other related equipment.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
(Other duties may be assigned as required)
Participate in all aspects of the preventative maintenance program for HVAC, refrigeration, and other building mechanical equipment
Participate in all aspects of installation, maintenance, and operation of ice sheet as directed
Operate lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, and all related equipment
Operate, inspect, and adjust HVAC controls and schedules as directed
Operate, inspect, and adjust refrigeration plant operation, including start-up and shut-down of plant and related equipment
Liaise with in-house technical staff, internal and external clients, and contract trades people to ensure efficient operation and completion of assigned tasks
Assist with inventory controls for all maintenance parts and supplies related to the physical plant and building operation
Provide event-related support for all building systems
**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
Fourth Class Power Engineers Certificate
Knowledge of automated building control systems, computer systems or equipment-related experience
Experience in making and maintaining ice surfaces, including experience driving a Zamboni or Olympia
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by Rogers Arena event schedule
Solid team player with a strong customer service focus
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff, guests, promoters, clients, corporate partners, and supplier contractors
Ability to take initiative and work well under mínimal supervision
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
