**About the Role**
The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for the maintenance and repair of Wessuc’s growing fleet of trucks and equipment, ensuring that our equipment is ready to be used to its fullest potential.
As Fleet Maintenance Manager you will:
- Provide hands-on supervision and management to a team of licensed 310T mechanics and apprentices to foster a performance culture in the shop;
- Manage vehicle and equipment maintenance and repairs, using the work order system to schedule and track workflow through the shop, set day-to-day objectives and measure performance;
- Work with operations to plan and schedule equipment, heavy and light-duty vehicles for annual and preventative services;
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns and emergencies, effectively coordinating and communicating next steps to all individuals involved;
- Assist in recruitment and training of shop staff;
- Promote a safe work environment, ensuring safe work practices are being followed;
- Ensure all proper certification and documentation is in place in vehicles;
- Manage fuel tracking and ensure fuel tanks are topped up and pumps are in working order;
- Oversee the parts department, ensuring parts are being ordered and delivered on a timely basis, and that the best products and vendors are constantly being identified and evaluated;
- Provide monthly vehicle and equipment uptime reports for management;
- Liaise with third parties such as insurance, MTO and repair shops to ensure quality service and optimal outcomes.
