BEST has a long history of promoting and enabling sustainable transportation through initiatives, collaboration, and leadership. We offer innovative social enterprises, programs, and services to encourage, promote and enable sustainable and active transportation choices. Currently, the offer is a three-program stream: Living Streets, Seniors on The Move (SOTM), and The Bicycle Valet.
BEST has been partnering with Translink providing support in managing and promoting Translink’s sustainable transportation initiatives. Translink is the organization’s largest stakeholders.

Our Programs:
- Living Streets _promotes walking to enrich and experience public space, creating community ties, as a feasible way of transportation, and a catalyst for physical and mental health. It is a program that identifies opportunities for education and public engagement in the pedestrian realm.
- The Bicycle Valet _provides free and secure bicycle/active transportation parking across Metro Vancouver.
- Seniors on the Move _is a seniors-led, systems-charge project that aims to increase transportation options for older adults and others who do not drive, which BEST co-manages with United Way B.C.
- We are looking for a Communications Coordinator passionate about Marketing and fundraising. In this role, you will report directly to the Executive Director and the Project Coordinators, and provide assistance in the areas of marketing._

**Responsibilities**:
**The Bicycle Valet**:
- Assist with Bicycle Valet branding across physical and digital assets, including fencing, banners, signage, tickets, website, and social media
- Work with Granville Island on creating digital and physical assets for seasonal location
- Work with event clients to create custom digital marketing materials
- Identify new promotional outreach opportunities to increase clients and patrons using service
- Create marketing strategy/toolkit for new and existing event clients
- Work with new and existing program partners and sponsors to create customized physical and digital collateral
- Update and implement social media strategy and evaluation
**Seniors on the Move (SOTM)**:
- Help implement Communications Strategy for ongoing and future projects
- Refining target audience and targeted messaging for different audiences
- Develop messaging and talking points around transportation as a ‘social determinant of health’
- Identify more seniors transportation key stakeholders across BC
- Supporting/marketing screening events of seniors’ transportation documentary
- Implement media strategy including identifying other relevant campaigns across BC
- Update media contact list
- Update SOTM online calendar
- Write media advisories for screening and promotional events
- Help identify other seniors transportation campaigns across BC and opportunities for collaboration
- Identifying and promoting other events/speaking opportunities to encourage greater promotion and awareness of alternatives to driving that are available
- Launch and help develop new website and quarterly newsletter
- Develop and implement social media calendar using existing BEST channels
- With evaluator, help with distributing and collecting evaluation tools, including surveys and petitions
**Living Streets**:
- Work with Living Streets Coordinator to:
- Develop Living Streets web and social media materials
- Create signage and print materials for events
- Support events with promotional materials
- Update toolkits, posters, and promotional materials for workplaces
- Create branding for new projects
**BEST/Other**:
- Create and development of e-newsletter, sent bi-monthly
- Help with updating the BEST website
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 10-15 per week
**Salary**: $21.50 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
**Education**:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Graphic design: 1 year (preferred)
