**Data Analyst (x2)**

**Reporting to the Manager, Data Operations (988 Crisis Service), the full-time, contract (12 months) **Data Analyst** for the 988 Crisis Service is responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to improve the effectiveness and reach of the national 988 suicide prevention hotline. This role supports the collection, analysis, and reporting of key data metrics that are essential for enhancing the service's operations and ensuring the delivery of life-saving interventions.**

**In this capacity, the Data Analyst will work closely with a team of data engineers, data scientists, and crisis service staff to ensure that the hotline’s data infrastructure is robust, scalable, and capable of meeting program reporting and analytics needs. This role also involves leveraging information design expertise and advanced analytics to provide actionable insights that inform decision-making at various levels.**

**Key Accountabilities**:
**Data Analysis & Reporting**:

- Analyze complex data sets from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can improve crisis service operations.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that present data in a clear and actionable manner to stakeholders, including crisis counselors, operational managers, and policy makers.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the hotline service using data to provide recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of data analysis, supporting crisis intervention efforts.

**Data Operations Support**:

- Collaborate with data engineers to optimize ETL processes and improve data collection and transformation workflows.
- Assist in the maintenance of data models and data flows to ensure seamless integration and availability of data across platforms.
- Support the implementation of new data sources and continuously improve the data infrastructure to meet evolving needs.
- Assist in ensuring data governance and compliance with privacy standards, particularly for sensitive mental health data.

**Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement**:

- Work closely with the data and analytics team to prioritize and execute data-driven projects that enhance service delivery.
- Collaborate with crisis service teams and external partners to understand their data needs and provide solutions that support their goals.
- Communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that data is accessible and actionable.
- Provide support for external reporting requirements, ensuring that data is provided to funders, provinces/territories, and other partners in a timely and compliant manner.

**Job Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in data analytics, with a strong background in data modeling, reporting, and visualization.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other relevant programming languages; experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to work with large, complex data sets, leverage advanced and leverage advanced analytics techniques to deliver clear insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical data into actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.
- Experience in healthcare, crisis intervention, or mental health services is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with data governance and privacy regulations, particularly in healthcare or mental health settings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
