Title: Optical Service - Assembler Technician
Company: A Medical Device Service Company located in Vaughan, ON (Hwy 400 & Hwy 407)
**Salary**: starting at $40,000.00 /year and can be increase after 3 months probation period based on the Lab Optical Experience and Personal Knowledge, also with a possibility of a yearly increase based on performance.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assemble and test a variety of optical products, following established procedures and processes
- Inspect, clean, and calibrate optical components to ensure proper alignment and functionality
- Test optical products using a variety of tools and techniques, including spectrometry, interferometry, and other measurement tools
- Troubleshoot and repair optical products as needed, including the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues
- Maintain accurate records of test results, assembly processes, and other relevant information
- Work with engineers and other team members to identify and implement process improvements and optimizations
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Other duties as assigned
**Requirements**:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor's degree in optics or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in optical assembly and testing
- Strong knowledge of optics, including lenses, mirrors, filters, and other optical components
- Experience with optical testing and measurement tools, such as spectrometers and interferometers
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Familiarity with basic electrical and mechanical systems and components
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and protocols
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
Yearly salary increase guaranteed based on performance.
