- Agriculture - Sylvite provides a full supply chain solution for crop input products such as fertilizer, seed and pesticides.
- Transportation - The transportation group at Sylvite not only coordinates part of the agricultural supply chain, but also provides logistics services to a large customer base, transporting goods throughout Canada and the United States.
Job Responsibilities:
Overview:
- Responsible for accounts payable function for head office
- Provide support to other members of shared services with accounting duties and ad-hoc requests
- Backup for cash administration function
- Support AR supervisor
Accounts Payable/Receivable:
- Process, code, verify and input invoices and employee expense reports
- Reconcile and record corporate credit cards
- Maintain records for all invoices, reports and payments
- Add and update vendor banking information and payment terms
- Receive and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner
- Prepare the weekly payments run according to payment terms
- Support AR supervisor with reporting, collections analysis and customer outreach as required
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in preparation of month-end journal entries for Business Units
- Update month-end working papers with financial data and supporting schedules
- Compile data required for bank reporting
- Assist in preparation of working papers required for annual external and tax audits
- Update and maintain accounting procedures manuals
- Perform ad-hoc analysis upon request
Cash Administration:
- Prepare bank deposits
- Update systems and publish daily foreign exchange rate
- Assist and support the finance shared services team with other banking activities as required
- Backup for cash administration functions: daily bank reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, and setup online bank transactions for approval and distribution of remittances
Education, Experience and / or Training Requirements:
- Accounting Diploma or related work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience working in an ERP environment desired
