214 Bethune Road North, Huntsville Ontario**Work Hours**: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (37.5 hours per week) Days of the week can be flexible.**_This is a Summer position_**

**JOB SUMMARY**

YMCA Camp Waabanaki offers a fun, engaging, and enriching summer camp experience for children and youth. Nestled in Huntsville a beautiful lakeside setting, surrounded by nature, our camp provides opportunities for campers to learn new skills, build friendships, and create lasting memories. **Position Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Cabin Maintenance and Repair: Perform general repairs to camper cabins, including but not limited to fixing doors, windows, screens, bunks, and minor structural issues.
- Dock and Deck Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance and repair of camp docks and decks, ensuring their safety and functionality.
- Groundskeeping: Maintain camp grounds by cutting grass using a lawnmower, trimming edges, and ensuring pathways are clear and safe.
- General Repairs: Undertake a variety of general repair tasks as needed throughout the camp, addressing plumbing leaks, and other facility maintenance needs.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate camp trucks, including those with trailers, for transporting materials and equipment around the camp property.
- Painting: Perform painting tasks on buildings, structures, and equipment to maintain their appearance and prevent deterioration.
- Tractor Operation: Operate a tractor for various groundskeeping and maintenance tasks as required.
- Preventative Maintenance: Assist with identifying and addressing potential maintenance issues proactively to prevent larger problems.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while performing maintenance tasks.
- Other Duties: Assist with other maintenance-related tasks as assigned by the Camp Director or designated supervisor.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in general maintenance and repair work.
- Experience operating lawnmowers and other groundskeeping equipment.
- Experience driving trucks and operating trailers safely.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid Class G driver's license with a clean driving record (or equivalent).
- Must be able to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to the overall success
