We are one of a handful of reproductive justice organizations in the country, focusing on the wellbeing of Indigenous women and women of colour.

We believe that women and girls live a life free from violence, they can fully realize and exercise their sexual and reproductive health and rights. When young people have access to accurate information and services on sexual and reproductive health, they can make informed decisions about their bodies and lives.

**About the Position**:
The position will assist with events and provide our Indigenous clients with opportunities to enhance their cultural, emotional, and social well-being.

**This position is 15hours/week, at least 2 days in the office.**

Location: Victoria, BC

Position Type: Part-time (15hrs/week)

Compensation: $24/hr

**Job duties**:

- Assist with organizing events.
- Assisting with SNIWWOC programs and committees
- Monitors and provides support to Indigenous clients and their families.
- Provide support and advice to SNIWWOC clients where appropriate, and assist in developing a cultural care plan.
- Attend relevant meetings as directed to ensure that organizational principles are adhered to and SNIWWOC clients have every opportunity to live in an environment that promotes their cultural wellbeing.
- Advocate for the health and wellbeing of all SNIWWOC clients
- Identify possible connections for SNIWWOC clients and partners
- Undertake specific tasks allocated by your supervisor relating to the promotion of SNIWWOC and enhancing relationships with partners and key stakeholders.
- Attend staff meetings
- Occasional evening and weekend work.

**Qualifications**:

- 1+ years of event planning experience
- A demonstrated connection to culture and community.
- Ability to establish and maintain appropriate networks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with indigenous communities.
- Ability to be self-motivated in a flexible team environment.
- Demonstrated report writing skills.
- An understanding of the needs of indigenous women and young people.
- Good computer skills with knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office package of tools, and capacity to navigate the internet for work purposes.
- Ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with team members, clients, families and professionals from various agencies and cultural backgrounds.
- Interest in reproductive justice and sexual/reproductive health
