Perform installation, inspection, testing, service, and repair as required on fire extinguishers and kitchen hood suppression systems for compliance with applicable fire, safety and manufacturers code requirements set by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and local Authority Having Jurisdiction (Local Fire Department).

**PrimaryDuties and Responsibilities**:

- Perform inspection, testing, service, and repairs as required for kitchen hood suppression systems and fire extinguishers, such as six-year maintenance, low-pressure hydrostatic test, recharge, including fire hoses and other services and repairs as mandated by standards and codes, manufacturers requirements, National and local ordinances, customer requirements, and expectations and procedures and requirements of Integrity Fire Ltd.
- Troubleshoot and perform service and repair of kitchen hood suppression systems, fire extinguishers and hoses.
- Post-fire suppression system discharge inspection, cleanup, recharge, testing and certification.
- Evaluate customer site for additional equipment and services that customers may require within the company product offerings.
- Look for opportunities to expand and/or cross-sell services documenting suggestions on client files and communicating with customers and head office.
- Discuss deficiencies noted with customers, explaining the problem and its resolution.
- Record and document all inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations, either electronically or manually.
- Maintain a good positive relationship with the customer and pass on information to the appropriate personnel for follow up, quotes, questions, or concerns.
- Maintain company vehicle in a clean and orderly fashion. Keep the vehicle stocked with parts, equipment, and supplies, necessary to perform the job.
- Maintain equipment and tools necessary to safely perform the job.
- Work in compliance with the Company's safety program.
- Some situations may require work on nights, weekends, and/or holidays. For some locations, these demands will be more frequent or required than others. This will be discussed with your Manager.
- Must be comfortable with heights, working on ladders and in confined spaces.

**Qualifications**:

- Must possess the ability to read and write professionally and calculate basic math including fractions, decimals and percentages.
- Must currently have a valid British Columbia driver's license and clean driving abstract, without any history of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Desirable job-specific certifications for fire safety and suppression technicians (ex. Fire extinguishers, Kidde, Range Guard, Amerex). In addition, employees may not have prior experience but have the potential and willingness to learn. The training and testing required to obtain a license or certifications are provided and paid for by the company.

**Working Conditions**:

- Flexible work shifts dependant on customer needs and travel requirements
- Overtime may be required and the number of hours may vary based on work location.
- May be exposed to all kinds of work environments, varying from hot to cold temperatures and exposure to extinguisher powder, system Karbloy in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Occasional overnight travel to customer locations.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Frequent lifting and carrying of toolboxes, equipment, parts, tools, equipment, cabling.
- Must successfully pass a lift test up to 180 pounds.
- Frequent ladder climbing and checking, pulling cable and pipe, moving tanks etc.
- Walking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, and raising hands overhead.
- Driving is required and the amount of time driving may vary.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for this position in accordance with safety standards.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract, Permanent

**Salary**: $16.75-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 50 per week
