We are looking for an individual with skills and a deep understanding of upholstery construction. You will be responsible for creating high-quality samples, creating new patterns, and troubleshooting construction issues before products go into mass production.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Prototype Creation**: Cut and sew complete upholstery samples (chairs, sofas, ottomans, or soft goods) based on design drawings or spec sheets.
- **Pattern Development**: Assist in creating, testing, and grading patterns.
- **Material Handling**: Work with a variety of materials including fabric and leather.
- **Precision Sewing**: Execute complex techniques such as top-stitching, piping, zipper insertion, and pattern matching (stripes/plaids) with high accuracy.
- **Feedback**: Provide technical feedback to the design team regarding fabric performance, seam placement, and production feasibility.

**Requirements**:

- **Experience**: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in upholstery or sample making.
- **Attention to Detail**: A critical eye for stitch tension, seam allowance, and overall aesthetics.
- **Language**: Functional English required for reading spec sheets and team communication.

**Nice to Have**:

- Experience with automated cutting tables.
- Background in traditional furniture manufacturing.
- Own transportation (as our facility is located in an industrial area of Vaughan).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
