Position: Breakfast Chef

White Point Beach Resort is seeking a dynamic and creative individual to fill the role of full time Breakfast Chef

In this full time, permanent position, you will work directly with the Culinary Management Team to manage, mentor, and be a part of a team of busy cooks, kitchen helpers and kitchen stewards.

**Responsible To**:Culinary Leadership Team (Executive Chef, Sous Chef)

**Role Summary**

The Breakfast Chef will report to the Culinary Leadership Team. This position comes with a great deal of responsibilities and is responsible for the execution of breakfast preparation and service at WPBR. He/she will be responsible for prepping designated ingredients in accordance to the restaurant recipes and specifications. They will also be responsible for the execution of their respected opening and closing duties and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. He/she must be efficient and able to work under pressure in an environment that at times can be stressful.

**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for the oversight of our breakfast service that includes buffet and a la carte
- Work as part of the lunch service culinary team
- Responsible for ensuring breakfast preparation, item replenishment and coordinating product ordering.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean, wrinkle free and professional
- Follow appropriate personal hygiene procedures to ensure food served to guests is safe for consumption including disinfecting hands prior to handling food
- Prepare and stock designated ingredients
- Clean and maintain workspace
- Follow the Sous Chef or Executive Chefs instructions in menu preparation guide lines
- Ensure that food meets the expectations of the Sous Chef and Executive Chef
- Communicate with the kitchen to ensure proper service
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude toward employees and customers
- Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
- Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Experience as a prep cook in a busy kitchen
- Understanding of basic cooking methods and procedures
- Culinary school diploma/enrollment an asset
- Knowledge of basic hygiene sanitation controls and purpose and use of cleaning supplies
- Food Hander Certified is required or must be taken within the first month of employment.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must be extremely responsible with integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
- Works well as part of a team

**Working Conditions**
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Required to move, lift, carry, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
- Stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling
- Move over sloping, uneven or slippery surfaces

Salary/Wage: $16.50 - $18 per hour
