**Position Overview**:
**Specific Responsibilities and Daily Tasks**:

- Research and collection of spatial data and historical images
- Assist with geo-referencing of historical images and perform QA/QC on georeferenced map sheets
- GIS data preparation and maintenance
- Provide support for internal GIS related requests when required
- Assist with assigned tasks for specific projects when required

**Knowledge & Educational Requirements**:

- College degree/diploma in GIS, geography, environmental sciences or equivalent education and experience
- At least 2 years’ experience working with GIS data and geo-referencing
- Solid understanding of GIS concepts, such as map projections, datums and the associated projection and transformation methodologies
- Familiar with various GIS formats, including shapefiles, geotiff, jp2, file geodatabases, csv, etc.
- Familiar with data editing, conversion, and management in ArcGIS environment
- Experience with basic Python and SQL commands/scripts is required
- Skilled with ArcGIS Desktop is required, experience ArcGIS Server 10.3+ an asset
