Cultural Competency Advisor

Nokiiwin Tribal Council is seeking a **Cultural Competency Advisor** to support the promotion and delivery of culturally safe services for individuals impacted by gender-based violence (GBV). This position will play a key role in advancing cultural safety practices across programs, delivering training, and fostering stronger connections with Indigenous communities and Knowledge Keepers.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Deliver, adapt, and evaluate the Spirit Builder Program cultural competency training for staff, volunteers, and community partners.
- Develop and share resources, toolkits, and guides to strengthen cultural learning and awareness of GBV.
- Build and maintain respectful relationships with Indigenous organizations, communities, and Knowledge Keepers.
- Represent Nokiiwin on committees, working groups, and community events.
- Support grant writing, reporting, and the coordination of ceremonial healing events.
- Provide timely and accurate advice to staff and leadership to uphold cultural integrity in programs and services.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Strong knowledge of Indigenous histories, cultures, worldviews, and the impacts of colonization.
- Understanding of cultural safety and trauma-informed care frameworks.
- Experience working with clients and vulnerable populations.
- Strong facilitation, training, and public speaking skills.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and written communication abilities.
- Analytical skills to support program evaluation and policy development.
