Assistant Service Manager

Arbutus RV is Vancouver Island’s premier one-stop-shop for everything RV. Meeting the needs of RVers since 1988, Arbutus is Vancouver Island’s largest sales, parts and service team at 7 locations throughout the island.
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to join our team as a **Assistant Service Manager.** In this role, you will work closely with the Service Manager and collaborate with other department managers to ensure the efficient operation of our Parts and Service Department. Your primary responsibility will be to support the day-to-day management of the department, maintain schedules, and contribute to the overall success of the team.
**Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with the Service Manager, Branch and/or Sales Manager to determine daily unit delivery priorities.
- Support service staff in setting daily priorities and maintaining schedules.
- Utilize informational tools and a Dealer Management System (DMS) to maintain an efficient workflow for technicians and apprentices.
- Oversee and/or perform the transfers of units within the shop, sales department, and service area, ensuring efficient logistics and coordination.
- Collaborate with Central Warranty (CW) and counter staff to ensure all required information, including pictures, is provided and documented in the DMS for warranty approval and payment.
- Respond promptly and attentively to customer questions, problems, and requests.
- Assist in overseeing stock levels and participate in the selection of items for weekly orders.
- Train new parts and service employees.
- Provide guidance and support to service and parts staff, ensuring they possess the knowledge and skills to deliver quality service and customer satisfaction.
**Qualifications**:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- 2+ Years in a Service Advisor/Assitant Manager role preferred
- Experience in the RV or automotive industry a bonus
- Proficiency in using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) or similar software.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Ability to train and provide guidance to new employees.
- Positive attitude and a team player mindset.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks and lift heavy items if required.
