Shop Manager

Fabrication Shop Manager - Full Time

Alpha Design is an established welding and fabrication shop that has proven to be one of the leading design, engineering, and installation firms in the Interior of BC. Alpha Design is committed to delivering high-quality services and products to our clients, and we are looking for an experienced and motivated Fabrication Shop Manager to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about welding, fabrication, and managing a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates on project progress and addressing any questions or concerns. Maintain professional relationships to ensure continued business opportunities.
- Oversee the daily activities in the shop, ensuring timely and quality production of custom fabrication and welding projects.
- Coordinate daily production schedules, allocate resources, and manage workflow to ensure timely completion of projects. Maintain communication with project managers to track project status and help resolve any issues that arise.
- Ensure that all welds and fabricated components meet industry standards and customer specifications.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and ensure a safe work environment.
- Monitor material inventory levels, order supplies, and perform shipping and receiving functions. Work with procurement to ensure that materials are available when needed for ongoing projects.
- Oversee the maintenance and proper operation of welding machines, tools, and other shop equipment. Ensure that all equipment is regularly serviced and maintained to avoid downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized and welcoming work area.

Qualifications:

- Experience in a welding/fabrication or other shop environment, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Understanding of welding techniques, fabrication methods, and blueprint reading.
- Ability to motivate and direct a diverse team while maintaining high standards of productivity and quality.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, particularly in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.
- In-depth knowledge of workplace safety standards, Worksafe regulations, and the ability to enforce safe working practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

- Merritt, BC V1K 1C2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Supervisory: 3 years (preferred)
- Managerial Role: 3 years (preferred)
