Billings Court Manor is seeking a highly motivated manager to lead their Therapeutic Recreation Department.

**Director of Therapeutic Recreation**

**Qualifications**
- College diploma or University degree in Therapeutic Recreation / Leisure Studies, Activation or a related discipline;
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in program planning, implementation, documentation and evaluation in a senior's care setting;
- Knowledge of community resources and service development;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Effective leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage multiple activities and meet deadlines;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook);
- Proficiency with MDS-RAI documentation
- Experience with Restorative Care is an asset

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develops, plans, organizes, implements, monitors and evaluates resident activities / programs;
- Effectively communicates and promotes all resident activities / programs;
- Encourages resident participation in activities / programs and ensures resident satisfaction and continuous quality improvement initiatives are promoted;
- Ensure the appropriate delegation of duties, responsibilities and accountability to all recreation/restorative staff.
- Ensures continuous quality improvement through program evaluation and audits;
- Liaise with the Residents’ Council and Family Council
- Supports Conmed Health Care Group policies and procedures;
- Adheres to regulatory requirements;
- Works with multi-disciplinary teams;
- Assists in the development of the recreation budget and monitors expenditures;
- Appropriately utilizes and maintains departmental supplies and resources;
- Maintains accurate department records including assessments, resident activity response and feedback detailing individual participation;
- Responsible for the recruitment, selection, orientation, supervision and recognition of volunteer resources;
- Attends applicable in-service meetings;
- Leading all recreation team members;
- Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
