Parry Sound, Canada W.S. Morgan Construction Limited Full time

W.S. Morgan Construction requires a Carpenter for construction projects in Parry Sound. Preference will be given to local applicants. Experience is preferred. Fabricate and prepare various wood, composition and plastic structures, and fixtures for installation

**Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Cut, shape, and assemble wood and/or various materials with shop tools and equipment such as planers, jointers, shaper, routers, sanders, and various power saws.
- Assemble and/or prepare components for Industrial, Commercial and Institutional projects
- Ability to read and interpret plans, sketches, and shop drawings for milling and fabrication.
- Prepare materials estimates as directed
- Determine type and dimensions of wood and/or materials to be used.
- Maintain and clean equipment and work area.
- Perform work of carpenter as assigned
- May act as Lead Carpenter in absence of Lead Carpenter or Supervisor.
- Direct work of workers as assigned
- Perform related duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Trade school graduation or equivalent, with experience as finish carpenter/cabinet maker an asset
- Knowledge of shop practices and skill in using shop tools and equipment.
- carpentry and cabinet making
- Ability to read blueprints and translate into fabricated products
- Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform related duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy lifting
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license if required

**Physical Demands**:

- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to transport construction materials, drawings and communications as required
- Ability to use stairs, ladders and climb over rough terrain
- Anticipate project related travel
- Ability to operate from head office, project sites and variable work locations
- Ability to perform construction responsibilities throughout all four seasons
