**The Opportunity**:
We are currently looking for a **Talent Acquisition Specialist** to join our Corporate Human Resources team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Lead, you will be responsible for managing full-cycle recruitment processes for the Emera Group of Companies’ Canadian Affiliates. This role requires initiative, collaboration, and the ability to multitask.

This position will appeal to the strategic recruitment professional who is proactive and resourceful in nature, takes ownership, can perform at a high level of competency, and who thrives when working in a dynamic team environment.

**Accountabilities**:
In particular as the Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will:

- Partner with Emera’s hiring managers and HR Business Partners to ensure a thorough understanding of the position’s requirements and expectations in order to develop a sourcing strategy;
- Prepare job descriptions and manage postings on Emera’s career websites as well as other relevant posting sites;
- Oversee the administrative process as well as the applicant system (ATS - Taleo) and manage the background and reference check processes, salary negotiation and creating job offers;
- Prepare and process hiring transactions and documentation;
- Participate in networking events, attend job fairs and other recruitment events;
- Act as a brand ambassador and position Emera as the employer of choice we are;
- Stay abreast of talent acquisition trends and best practices;
- Take on other ad-hoc projects and assignments as directed.

As the successful applicant you will be joining a highly motivated team that is working on various interesting projects in Canada, the United States, and other jurisdictions. You will acquire a broad exposure to the many facets of Emera and its affiliates.

**Competencies, Skills and Experience**:

- Post-secondary education in Business or Human Resources combined with at least 3-5 years of professional Recruitment/Talent Acquisition experience with a strong emphasis on strategic sourcing;
- Others would describe you as a self-starter, a strong communicator; someone who can build and maintain relationships and brings a level of maturity given the interaction with critical external and internal stakeholders;
- Experienced in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and a power user of all social media is considered an asset;
- Solid business and financial acumen; you bring a clear understanding of how talent acquisition contributes to business results;
- Able to demonstrate a high level of initiative and proactive in nature;
- Results oriented, committed to meet deadlines with a high level of energy;
- Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills are crucial;
- Able to work with mínimal supervision; someone who is detail-oriented, can multi-task and prioritize;
- Previous recruitment experience within a Corporate or Recruitment Agency environment would be considered an asset.
