With more than 60 years of experience, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) is one of 36 Conservation Authorities in Ontario, created to safeguard and enhance the health and well-being of watershed communities through the protection and restoration of the natural environment and the ecological services the environment provides.

**How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team**:
Under general supervision, the Analyst is responsible for various compilation, analysis and reporting functions related to climate science adaptation in support of the Climate Science Adaptation (CSA) team within the Ecosystem and Climate Science (ECS) Program. The ECS program conducts ecological, hydrological, and biological monitoring and research to understand and communicate the historical, current and possible future ecosystem conditions within TRCA watersheds. It also aims to support TRCA municipal partners in taking actions to protect, restore and enhance these ecosystems. The CSA team researches and communicates the expected changes to climate, the resulting vulnerabilities, risks and adaptation measures needed within TRCA watersheds.
**Major Responsibilities**:
- Analyzes and interprets environmental and hydro-climate data using standard methodologies and techniques derived from peer-reviewed sources (e.g. basic to advanced statistical and geospatial approaches).
- Conducts literature reviews of academic and grey literature to identify best approaches and methods to advance projects;
- Contributes to the development of technical reports, manuscripts, conference presentations, data summaries, data releases, in addition to conducting online and literature research where required.
- Manages hydroclimate data in support of the Ecosystem and Climate Science team and other projects including QA/QC, data storage and transfer
- Provides input and advice on study design and data reporting/analysis requirements and considerations for new and on-going projects.
- Prepares and presents data and results in a meaningful way through visualizations and summaries.
- Comfortable running hydrological models and can interpret results effectively.
**What will you need to succeed**:
- 4 year degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Sciences, Climate Change Adaptation, or Hydrology depending on the particular focus of the analyst position.
- Valid Ontario Drivers License.
- 2 year working experience related to data analysis and reporting.
- 2 years working experience related to statistical analysis of environmental datasets.
- 1-2 years working experience related hydrological modelling.
- Knowledge of ecological, or biological practices and principles.
- Demonstrated research, technical writing and study design skills.
- Good organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
