**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**:
The CPKC Police Service offers an exciting career for bold and skilled experienced officers ready to protect communities and safeguard Canada's vital railway infrastructure. Redefine service impact with a dedicated team. The 2025 annual salary for a first-class constable is 114k without overtime (OT) and call-out.
This position will be based in Regina, SK.
**POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- Promote public safety by enforcing federal, provincial and municipal laws. Additionally, this includes educating the community and collaborating with other law enforcement agencies during investigations and joint operations.
- Prevent and detect crime through proactive patrols, investigations and the effective management of workload. This includes responding to emergency incidents and general calls for service
- Conduct criminal and collision investigations, prepare comprehensive reports, prosecution files and deliver professional court testimony as required
- Protect railway assets, operations and personnel while ensuring the safety and security of critical infrastructure
- Provide assistance and support to victims of crime while managing responsibilities and maintaining public trust
- Maintain strong communication skills, a solid understanding of relevant legislation, and adherence to policies and procedures to ensure effective enforcement and service delivery
- Be flexible and prepared for travel on assignment. 'On-call' duty and rotating schedules, including being operational on nights, weekends, and holidays are part of the operational requirements
- Plan, manage and prioritize workload effectively while conducting patrols. Collaborate with other agencies and stay prepared for training opportunities and emerging assignments
**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:
- High school diploma with a preference for post-secondary education and community involvement
- Currently a sworn police constable and be in good standing with a recognized Canadian federal, provincial, municipal or First Nations police service. Retired and recent law enforcement experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Possess a strong knowledge of the Canadian Criminal Justice System and enforcement under Provincial Statutes
- Must meet established physical and professional standards. This includes the successful completion of fitness tests like Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (PARE), Police Officer Physical Ability Test (POPAT), and Physical Readiness Evaluation for Police Officers (PREP), psychological exam, polygraph exam and meeting the CPKC Police Firearms and Use of Force Standards
- Current First Aid, CPR and AED qualifications
- Must not have any McNeil decisions on personnel file
- A valid driver’s license required
