Cake Savvy is currently seeking a part time Bakery Assistant. We are a specialty cake bakery serving the lower mainland from Hope to Langley with edible works of art. We provide custom orders for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and many other special occasions. Position Overview

The Bakery Assistant will do the majority of the baking and assist with icing cakes. This person will also have the opportunity to learn decorating alongside the Cake Artist and assist in making custom orders.

Key Duties
- preparing new baked goods

◦ Closely following existing recipes

◦ Preparing ingredients and baking cakes

◦ Ensuring timely completion of baked products

◦ Ensuring every product meets the expectations of the customer and reflects well on the high standards of Cake Savvy

◦ Packaging and storing completed products in a secure, presentable, and neat way

◦ Adhering to all food quality and workplace safety protocols

◦ Keeping records of the bakery inventory

General Duties
- Clean the work area, wiping surfaces, and washing utensils and machinery after use and the end of each day
- Occasionally deliver orders, eventually taking all deliveries of 2-3 weekends per month. Delivery range is from Hope to Langley.
- Always interact with customers graciously, professionally and with a smile.

**Qualifications**:

- Hold a valid Food Safe certificate
- Have previous experience in baking
- Ability to multi-task while paying great attention to detail
- Ability to work under strict deadlines and follow instructions precisely
- Not afraid to ask questions
- Must have a valid driving license and have own vehicle
- Must be flexible with working hours: able to work longer or shorter as needed

Hours to start are 8-10 hours a week (Wednesday and Thursday), and are expected to increase to 14-18 hours a week (extending to Fridays and weekends) depending on experience. Hours will be between 9am-3pm. More hours are possible as we gain new vendor contracts.
