**DESCRIPTION**
**Scope**:
The role of a Quality Control Inspector is to perform or assist in a variety of quality control and inspection work related to a specific discipline ensuring all standards, codes and regulations are met for the manufacturing process
Position: Full time
**Area**: Plant (production) & Office
**Reports to**: Plant Manager and Quality Assurance Manager for quality issues and concerns related to producing an acceptable product that meet the requirements of our customers and their contract.
**Hours of work**: 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday
**Requirements**:
Inspect/review product material, weld quality and testing to ensure compliance with Code, Standards, Specifications and Cambridge Pro Fab's Quality Assurance Manual
Perform in-process and final inspections as stated in Cambridge Pro Fab's Quality Assurance Manual
Ensure proper records of all inspections are kept on file and files for each contract are kept up to date
Become the quality lead for all assigned projects; including but not limited to product inspections, product audits, paperwork, document management and submittals, working with customer quality staff, tracking and reporting key performance indicators
Ensure quality control documentation is compiled, maintained and completed in a timely matter, meeting project deadlines
Verify welding is in compliance with CSA and AWS specifications
Report to the Plant Manager any issues which may affect the production due dates and quality of manufactured product
Deal with the customer's Quality Assurance Inspectors in a courteous, professional manner
Perform any other tasks that he/she or the Plant Manager feel is required to better the company
Promote and maintain effective communications and relations (verbally and in writing) with supervisor and the project management team
Represent the company at all levels of business and adhere to the principles set out in the company mission statement
Must possess a continuous improvement mindset, working on and leading improvements as required
Report to the Plant Manager any contravention to the OHSA or other regulations, including Cambridge Pro Fab Inc.'s policies and procedures, report any physical hazards
Travel to suppliers or contractors if required
Extended hours may be required from time to time
Other duties as assigned
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
Knowledge of quality control procedures, weld processes, record keeping and systems considered an asset
Experience of working with and inspecting paint coatings and galvanizing is considered a plus
Excellent communication, technical writing and organization skills
Proven time management skills and strong attention to detail
Works well under pressure
Computer literate in Adobe, Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and AutoCAD (is considered an asset)
Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks quickly
Ability to work effectively with team members and yet be independent and self-reliant when completing tasks
Demonstrate initiative and is a proactive problem solver
Must be familiar with NDE test procedures
Be proactive and accountable for deadlines and job requirements
