**Job Title: Human Resources/Health and Safety Clerk**
**Department: Human Resources**
**Hours of Work: Monday
- Friday, 9:00 a.m.5:00 p.m., occasional overtime**
**Job Status: Full time**
**Pay Rate**: **55,000/annual based on 44 hours**
**Report To: President & Plant Manager**
**Job Summary**:
Human Resources/Health and Safety Clerk will be involved in supporting and assisting in all Human Resources activities such as time and attendance, HR administration, staff recruitment, orientation, onboarding, employee file management, employee relation, and health & Safety. He or she will provide continuous Human Resources support to the Plant Manager and Production Management to facilitate production operations and activities. The incoming incumbent will have to maintain employee privacy and keep Human Resources information strictly confidential.
**General Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Provide advice on current changes in legislation to the President, Plant Manager, and Production Management regarding (ESA, OHRC, OHSA).
- Act as the first point of contact for employees and address any internal requests/concerns related to Human Resources such as policies, procedures. practices, benefits questions, time & attendance, and payroll.
- Manage employee absenteeism/attendance program via HRIS: monitor attendance, issue appropriate corrective disciplinary action with the Plant Manager and Production Management.
- As the head of the Joint Health and Safety Committee, you will coordinate and facilitate the Health and Safety program to ensure compliance with OHSA regarding health and safety in the plant.
- With direction from the President and Plant Manager you will develop and implement continuous Human Resources & Health and Safety policies, and procedures.
- Process all new hires paperwork and enter their employment information in the HRIS.
- Communicate Human Resources & Health and Safety policies, procedures, regulations, and programs to employees.
- Update and maintain all Health & Safety programs including the administration, monitoring, and submission of WSIB form 7.
- Support Plant Management on various initiatives such as recruitment, orientation, onboarding, training & development, employee relations, workforce management, and health and safety.
- Create and post job descriptions, coordinate and conduct panel interviews with the Plant Manager.
- Manage the agency employee’s program and submit timecard hours to agency representatives.
- Process labour costing report for the President and payroll reports for the Accounting Manager.
**Experience & Qualification**:
- Minimum one year of Human Resources/Health and Safety experience.
- Manufacturing experience would be an asset.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
**Work Environment**:
- Normal office environment.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Must be able to work at a desk/computer for an extended period.
- Must be able to have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement on a computer.
