As Director, Indigenous Rights and Quality, you will lead transformative initiatives that embed reconciliation principles and create meaningful change across one of Canada’s largest health systems.

In this role, you will oversee the Indigenous Complaints and Feedback Pathway, strengthen partnerships with Indigenous communities, and ensure culturally safe practices are integrated throughout Fraser Health. Working closely with senior leadership and Indigenous partners, you will have the authority and resources to influence systemic improvements that directly enhance patient experiences and build trust.

Detailed Overview:
**Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families**:
Reporting to the Executive Director Indigenous Health Collaborative Council (IHCC), the Director assists with the implementation of the Fraser Partnership Accord and related priorities to improve the health outcomes of Indigenous people living in the Fraser Health Region. Specifically, the Director will be responsible for supporting the Feedback and Accountability Sub-Committee to design and implement a new joint process for feedback and accountability based on the recommendations of the Lafontaine Report and In Plain Sight.
The Director will support the implementation of the new Indigenous Complaints patient pathway as described within the Xwélalà:m Xwelá Ye Xwexwílmexw, Listening to Indigenous People: A Blueprint for gathering and responding to complaints, compliments and feedback from First Nations, Inuit and Metis people in the Fraser Salish Region.
The Director leads and oversees the implementation of the Indigenous Complaints system and cross collaborates across multiple departments with Executive and Senior Leaders to support the feedback process and the accompanying feedback processes. This service supports the Feedback and Accountability Co-Chairs with leading subcommittee meetings, as well as collecting complaint and feedback documentation to determine the appropriate next steps within the process including referrals to external independent review bodies.
The Director works with members of the senior leadership of the Fraser Health Authority that are involved with or related to the Feedback and Accountability processes and strategies. With this information base, the Director provides expert consultation to the Executive Director, IHCC, the Feedback and Accountability Co-Chairs, and the entire IHCC.

**Responsibilities**:

- Working with the Executive Director, IHCC and the members of the IHCC, the Director leads the development, planning, analysis and execution of key IHCC priorities related to the implementation of the Xwélalà:m Xwelá Ye Xwexwílmexw, Listening to Indigenous People: A Blueprint for gathering and responding to complaints, compliments and feedback from First Nations, Inuit and Metis people in the Fraser Salish Region.
- Oversees and aligns systemic changes related to the implementation of the new Indigenous feedback system across the Fraser Salish Region. Works with across departments with members of the FHA senior leadership to discuss and identify key operating and leadership needs.
- Applies current business thinking and practice models to support Executive Director, IHCC to strengthen IHCC Secretariat and functions, including the development and execution of strategies related to the implementation of the Fraser Partnership Accord.
- Establishes and maintains extensive partnerships and networks in order to foster collaboration and efficiencies for the resolution of Indigenous feedback systems.
- Develops, evaluates, and implements department specific operating plans that are aligned with the strategic vision of the IHCC, and the distinctions based 5-year regional Indigenous health plan once developed.
- Directs and monitors the workflow of assigned staff within the designated area, including prioritizing feedback requests, interpreting and coordinating disciplines and ensuring delivery of services in accordance with IHCC departmental goals, objectives, and client needs.
- Recruits, interviews, and selects staff, provides leadership by developing, implementing, and evaluating staff to align with FHA and IHCC culturally safe workplace practices. Provides overall leadership and direction to team members using effective management techniques (e.g., coaching, mentoring, skill and leadership development, performance management), and fostering a motivating and respectful environment where individual competencies can thrive.
