In conjunction with the Senior Manager, Design Studio, the
**Design Studio Manager **oversees the Design Studio operation by offering Homeowners a full range of options and selections to personalize their homes, while ensuring adherence to the operating budget. The Manager will work to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and profitability targets through measurement and a focus on continuous process improvement. They will lead, develop, inspire and manage part of the Design Studio team to achieve business and individual performance objectives. As well, this role is key in meeting and exceeding customer expectations, while striving to achieve “The Best Homeowner Experience” in all activities undertaken.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Support department objectives to meet customer experience, production, and sales targets.
- Oversee the Design Studio Coordinator team to processes to ensure homeowner selections are accurately processed according to Construction Timelines.
- Oversee the Home and Style Team. Work with the Team leaders to ensure they are fully staffed, trained on products within the Studio, provided with development opportunities and providing the best homeowner experience.
- Work in consultation with the Contracts Department to ensure that information flowing through Purchasing and Design is accurate and timely, while reporting concerns with data integrity and/or system set up.
- Work with Construction Department to ensure scheduling of appointments meet production timelines.
- Follow-up with Construction staff to ensure execution of product delivery (e.g., product supplied is consistent with customer expectation of product sold).
- Work in conjunction with the Purchasing department in the co-ordination of subcontracts with suppliers and contractors for upgrade options with a direction to remaining competitive in the building sector.
- Provide support and guidance to Design Consultants as required.
- Manage back office support of Design Consultants to ensure timelines are being maintained.
- Identify training needs and source training and development opportunities to be created whether internally or externally. Oversee orientation program for new employees and organize product knowledge sessions on an ongoing basis.
- Communicate effectively with customers to ensure common understanding in delivering their needs and expectations.
- Assist as required in the planning, design, construction and setup for the Design Studio showroom.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and products available in the Design Studio ensuring that Mattamy offers leading edge products within the building industry.
- Support teams between the Oakville, Milton & Vaughan offices.

- Post-secondary degree/diploma attained; Interior Design, Business and/or Marketing/Retail Management is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in leading a team.
- Knowledge of construction practices and or retail management an asset.
- Computer competence in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Project management skills.
- Customer Service management skills in a dynamic and changing business environment.
- Training and development skills as well as strong facilitation skills.
- Skills in team building with both internal and external service providers.
