**Fife House**is an innovative, client-focused provider of secure and supportive affordable housing and services to people living with HIV/AIDS in the Greater Toronto Area. With approximately 110 staff working across 6 locations, in 2020-2021 Fife House served more than 850 residents and clients by providing supportive and transitional housing programs as well outreach programs to homeless clients and their families.

**Fife House**understands that historically marginalized groups in our communities often encounter particular barriers to full access and participation. We therefore commit to actively dismantling all forms of racism and systemic oppression with GIPA/MEPA at the forefront, including in our own organization and across governance structures. As a settler agency, Fife House stands in solidarity with Indigenous and Black Peoples across Turtle Island and recognizes the role we have in the work of reconciliation and healing.

**Fife House**seeks some dedicated individuals as our next Community Navigators. This role is a relief position to support Fife House’s many housing and community programs. The Community Navigator will work directly with people living with HIV/AIDS who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. The position will work primarily onsite at 490 Sherbourne, and at various locations, as needed.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Participate in Community Navigator Training
- Attend In-House Drop-in as scheduled
- Set-up and clean up Drop-in room
- Verify Clients particulars and fill up consultation forms
- Provide clients with information on Housing Help Programs across the city
- Assist clients with contacting Housing Help Programs across the city
- Willing to conduct private market rental search online with clients
- Support clients accessing the emergency shelter system, respite and warming centers, and crisis beds

**ACCOMPANIMENTS**
- Support clients to attend housing and health related appointments in the community
- Support connections and attachment to care-support-attendance to key medical, mental health and substance use appointments, take direction and work
- collaboratively with clients’ circle of care to meet care goals
- Work with Fife House Program staff, Case Management Staff, or other partner agency staff in developing goals and service planning for clients
- Support client attendance in accessing other services and appointments: HIV supports, income supports, food security, counselling, criminal justice, and social/wellness programs
- Provide interim housing stabilization support to newly house homeless clients; support with budgeting and shopping, connections to supports and resources in their local community

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- The Community Navigator(s) will be a person living with HIV/AIDS
- The Community Navigator(s) will have experience working with marginalized individuals and persons of diverse ethnic, cultural, racial backgrounds and sexual orientations
- The Community Navigator(s) will have the ability to carry out their duties independently and as part of a team
- The Community Navigator(s) will have the ability to follow through on commitments and maintain professional boundaries with community members while working in a peer capacity

**ASSET**:

- Lived experience navigating multiple Toronto based services agencies
- Lived experience (current or past) homeless/street-involvement
- Lived experience and/or knowledge of the immigration process and community supports for immigrants/refugees
- Ability to speak a second language
- Knowledge of crisis intervention and skill training
