**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated **Controls & Automation Specialist** to support the design, development, quoting, and commissioning of electrical control systems and industrial automation projects. This hands-on role will involve collaboration with multiple departments including sales, production, procurement, and quality to ensure high-performance systems that meet customer specifications, industry standards, and project timelines.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the **design of electrical control systems** using AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical.
- Create **Bills of Materials (BOMs)** and input data into purchasing systems.
- Support the **quoting process**, ensuring compliance with specifications and local codes.
- Participate in the **assembly, wiring, and testing** of control panels as needed.
- Assist with the **on-site commissioning** of control systems at customer facilities.
- Contribute to **R&D claim (SR&ED)** documentation as required.
- Work with sales and production to identify necessary materials and equipment.
- Obtain and compare **competitive quotes** from vendors and identify cost-effective alternatives.
- Communicate proactively with **customers** regarding design changes or corrections.
- Communicate with **suppliers** to ensure timely and accurate component delivery.
- Identify and resolve conflicts within drawings to ensure quality and accuracy in execution.
- Track and support project schedules, deliverables, and technical milestones.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure the timely delivery of safe and reliable systems.
- Provide **floor support** when required for wiring or testing panels.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications & Education**:

- College diploma or university degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, or a related discipline.
- Minimum **5 years of relevant experience** in controls or automation.
- Strong working knowledge of **Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook**.
- Must hold a valid **driver’s license** and be willing to visit customer sites as needed.
- Solid understanding of **business practices**, automation systems, and **industrial networking**.
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail, especially in **design and commissioning**.
- Familiarity with **electrical control systems** and industry standards.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Experience with **SEL and GE relay programming**.
- Experience with **Water/Wastewater projects**.
- Excellent **team collaboration** and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to think critically, troubleshoot effectively, and provide technical solutions.

Pay: $65,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
