**HOUSEKEEPER / CARETAKER**

**(with some life and personal admin as well)**

You love to take care of young babies (newborn to 2 years old) and are a whizz at keeping the house in order as well

Hola Thanks for your interest in this position, we’re excited to meet you.

We recently had our son (little Leo) join our family and are looking for a caring and knowledgeable housekeeper / caretaker to help us navigate this new path of parenthood.

Ideally, we want you to become an extension of our family

Of course your primary responsibility will be in caring for our newborn, however we also would like you to help keep the house in good working order - cooking, cleaning, laundry and other household chores are just part and parcel of what you feel very comfortable doing in your role.

When the baby isn’t in your arms, you’re busy helping tidy, organize, cook, clean, do laundry and put things back in their usual place

We are a health conscious, caring and communicative little family and want our nanny to encompass the same ethos.

We live in a spacious 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom home in downtown Toronto (near The Junction) and are open to explore the possibilities of live in or live out as needed.

ABOUT YOU
- You’re organized, reliable, caring, dependable, responsible and prefer to be over (not under) prepared.
- You’ve been a caretaker for newborn babies before
- Your communication skills are excellent. You prefer to err on the side of over not under communication, while understanding we don’t need to know every little concern that arises - that’s what we have you for
- You’re intelligent, have a wealth of knowledge and experience and can advise us (as new parents) on best practices for a newborn
- You have a strong work ethic and are flexible. Irregular hours from time to time don't bother you.
- You have a minimum of 3 years experience as a Nanny, however 5-10 years is ideal.
- You have a childcare or similar qualification
- You have a current and valid CPR Qualification
- You have a current and valid First Aid Certificate
- You feel like you’re on this planet to have an impact and want to work as part of a family team that really looks out for one another while having a great time along the way

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your job will primarily be to be the caretaker to our newborn and support as well as guide us through the journey of parenthood.

In addition to being a great caretaker, we would also like your help with household chores as well.

Whether it’s cooking, cleaning, washing, cleanup or just tidying around the house - we expect you to be able to (and happy to) help out around the house. While we have a cleaner who comes once per week, as you know, kids and tired parents leave a trail of mess in their wake that needs tidying up

You’re the kind of person that loves to organize, you watch Marie Kondo videos in your spare time and love to create order out of chaos.

We are very house proud, so a clean home creates a blank canvas from which to start the day and be productive. A messy and disorganized home creates both internal and external chaos - especially for the father

ABOUT US

We’re both entrepreneurs and run high performing businesses of their own. Paternity and maternity leave are only possible to the degree they can maintain some reasonable oversight over their businesses. So the more you can relieve them of the functional duties of parenthood, the more they can focus on the vital things like quality time, attention and feeding with the baby.

If you love to be highly organized, have a warm and loving disposition - then you will thrive in this role

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

On a daily or weekly basis you will be responsible for things like
- Making sure our newborn is attended to and taken care of. Effective care of the baby is of course our top priority.
- Setting up a routine for our newborn but still allowing him to experience life at his own pace.
- Attending to household chores including cooking, cleaning, laundry, tidying and organizing as needed day to day.
- Ultimately, you will become an extension of our family and secondary caregiver for our son

SALARY & POSITION

Flexible hours, primarily looking for Monday to Friday (6 Hours daily)

Part-time hours: 30 per week

**Salary**: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
