Description
**Responsibilities**
- Take ownership of your portfolio of companies, managing the financial statement close process and other financial reporting deliverables
- Identify opportunities for and successfully implement improvements to the financial statement close process
- Coach and lead the development of a team of accounting professionals
- Ensure the reported financial results comply with company policies, accounting standards and internal controls
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards
- Liaise with the external auditors to coordinate statutory audits and provide support for the BEP consolidated audit
- Support the Senior Manager, Accounting in various related activities
**Requirements**:
- Exceptional skills and abilities in written and oral communication
- Demonstrated business acumen with ability to see the big picture and drive results
- Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Possess strong management and interpersonal skills - focus on problem solving, coaching, and ability to manage team and individual responsibilities
- Capable of managing difficult and demanding situations
- Comfortable working in dynamic environment with fast pace of work, and tight deadlines
**Qualifications**
- Recognized Professional designation (CPA)
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience combined with managerial experience
- In-depth understanding of IFRS (US GAAP an asset)
- Knowledge or exposure to SOX would be an asset
- Good knowledge of Excel, knowledge of IFS an asset
