**About Howmet Aerospace**

**Howmet's Georgetown, ON location is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic for the day shift.**

**Position Purpose**

This position is primarily responsible for providing maintenance and mechanically related services for the Georgetown location. Duties related to the general up keep of existing items as well as tasks related to any new projects. Ensuring Howmet's preventative and unscheduled maintenance programs are effective and up to date.

Performs their tasks in order to meet customer requirements, while adhering to Howmet's quality procedures and various safety regulations.

**Typical job duties**
- Conducts preventative maintenance on all production machinery and related equipment including, material handling and fork lift equipment.
- Assist in the install of new equipment as well as, adjusting and repairing of existing equipment.
- Start up and observe all machines to detect malfunctions and report any/all findings.
- Communicate ideas an improvement to the department Manager on all production related machinery and parts.
- Perform building/facility maintenance related duties including but not limited to mechanical related items in plant and office areas.
- Make improvements on production machinery and parts under the direction of the departmental Manager.
- Monitor and maintain safety performance equipment.
- Assist in the research of new equipment/replacement parts and make purchase recommendations.
- Assist QA with validation and verification of equipment and processes.
- Liase with all staff members regarding the repair of equipment.
- Conduct the necessary training of equipment to the appropriate Machine Operator.
- Ensure housekeeping is maintained daily.
- Ensure open lines of communication are met daily, in particular from Shift to Shift.
- Observe, obey and reinforce all Health and Safety Standards.

**Qualifications**
- Experience in production, heavy industrial mechanical type systems
- Minimum two years’ experience repairing production equipment
- Knowledge of Pneumatic, Welding, Pipe fittings, PLC’s including plumbing and Gas

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Georgetown, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:
