Better Living Health and Community Services has an opening for the position of Coordinator, Home Maintenance Services for one year. This position is responsible for the creation of daily Home Maintenance Worker schedules, coordinating client seasonal requests by matching clients to workers, carrying out recruitment initiatives and support of Registered Workers for outdoor seasonal maintenance. This position also provides administration and scheduling coverage support to all services within the Transportation department as required.

This position reports to the _Manager, Community Access and Maintenance._

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in a social services, gerontology or a related field
- A minimum of 2 years related work experience in a home and community care setting and/or comparable scheduling coordinator experience
- Working knowledge of AlayaCare, Novus, DriversMate, EasyCare, and Microsoft Office is an asset
- A current valid G-Class driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract is an asset
- Successful completion of _Vulnerable Sector Screening _within one month of employment
- Provide daily leadership and delegate work to Home Maintenance Workers and Registered Workers in the community
- Coordinate recruitment, onboarding and seasonal registration of Registered Workers to ensure that seasonal outdoor maintenance service retains a roster to meet service needs, including Outreach to community organizations, schools, and employment agencies
- Grant time off and make recommendations in regards to recruitment needs as required to ensure the program maintains a roster of Home Maintenance Workers to meet program needs
- Able to effectively utilize multiple electronic Client records to support all aspects of the delivery of care
- Develop and coordinate Registered Worker Seasonal Client Job Lists
- Develop and coordinate Home Maintenance Worker daily schedules, reviewing and following up to Service Quotes, Service Visit Reports and Client material purchases in AlayaCare
- Schedule, assign and delegate work to Home Maintenance Workers. Monitor and update schedules and communicate schedule changes and/or Client work plans to Clients, caregivers and Home Maintenance Workers/Registered Workers
- Complete Home Maintenance Worker shift approvals for payroll submission and collaborate with the Payroll Manager to resolves payroll discrepancies
- Provide coverage support to Program Assistant Community Services and Coordinator Transportation Services as required
- Provide coverage support outside business hours
- Contribute to the implementation of department outreach initiatives
- Demonstrate strong written, verbal communication and documentation skills
- Perform other duties when required including, but not limited to: Attend agency staff meetings, provide members of the department assistance with other functions as required
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic equipment for lawn care and snow removal, preventative maintenance practices, and daily safety checks is an asset
- Work in a supportive manner with Clients, Caregivers, and other healthcare professionals in order to effectively respond to the needs of Clients
- Demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills
- Manage multiple workplace demands through strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills
