Peace Arch Hospital and the surrounding Health Service Area is looking for a Geriatrician to provide part-time temporary coverage.

White Rock is located in the lower mainland of British Columbia. A small and friendly community in beautiful British Columbia with access to beaches, White Rock is surrounded by natural beauty along the coast of the Pacific Ocean with a number of parks and trails to explore.

Fraser Health is one of Canada’s fastest growing health authorities, serving over one third of the population in British Columbia. The Department of Geriatrics in Fraser Health is a diverse group of geriatricians and care of the elderly physicians serving a large region. Our hospitals are affiliated with the University of British Columbia and offer opportunities for clinical practice, as well as teaching and academic research.

This is a part time temporary position (0.4 FTE for a period of 3 months, negotiable) joining a group of geriatricians who service the White Rock community. This position will involve inpatient consultation on an already thriving inpatient consultation service. This will involve 2 days a week of inpatient consultation coverage. There is no expected weekend or evening call through the geriatric medicine position. Remuneration is through Ministry of Health Alternate Payment Plan service contract model.

Qualifications:

- Eligibility for or active FRCPC Geriatric Medicine, preferred, but ABIM Geriatric Medicine Certification will be considered
- Eligibility for or active full license to practice in BC
- Strong collaborative interpersonal and inter-disciplinary skills

Peace Arch Hospital is a community hospital providing a range of health care including emergency, surgery, and maternity care. It is a Level 4 trauma centre serving White Rock and South Surrey.
