General Internist - Three full-time positions

The Department of Medicine at Peace Arch Hospital (PAH )is looking for three General Internal Medicine (GIM) specialists. PAH is a community hospital in White Rock. We have a rapidly growing community, which supports the hospital. We have an excellent Hospitalist group covering all medical inpatients excluding ICU patients.

The hospital has specialists as follows: Respirologist, Gastroenterologist, General surgeons, an ENT surgeon, Orthopedic surgeons, Urologists, OB-GYN specialists. Neurologists and Infectious Disease services visit once a week. We run a Chest pain clinic as well as supervise other exercise stress tests and MIBIs

We have a Doctor of the Week (DOW) system where the DOW physician covers all ICU patients and requests for consultations from ER/ward from 0800H-1700H, and reads Holters for the week (Monday to Sunday).

On-call physician will cover ICU patients from 1700H to 0800H next day for any urgent issues, and cover any new consultations during that period. The on-call physician gets level 1 MOCAP and fee for service for this period.

Emergency Department Expansion and Upgrades

Peace Arch Hospital has recently undergone Phase One of an 83.7 million dollar Emergency Department expansion and Operating Room upgrades that features a brand new Emergency building, five upgraded perioperative suites (operating rooms), and a new Medical Device Reprocessing department. Phase Two is currently under way.
