Victoria, Canada Richard’s Island Perimeter Drains Full time

As a skilled labourer you will be responsible for assisting the pipe layer in installing various pipe works, site grading, grouting, raking. You will work with the machine operators to ensure excavation is complete along with other site dependant tasks. All members of the team are expected to act in accordance with company and site health and safety regulations, site cleanliness and promote quality and safety values within the workforce.

**Duties Include**
- Assist the machine operator and subcontractors in excavation of the site
- Maintain grade necessary for perimeter drain systems
- Maintaining tools, cords and equipment so that they are kept in good working order and are safe for use
- Shoveling, running wheelbarrows, raking, removing concrete by Jackhammer/concrete saw, backfilling trenches, site clean up
- Maintaining the work area(s) in a clean and orderly manner on a continuous basis.
- Regularly required to stand as well as other physical requirements such as sitting, walking, climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
- Communicating with other crew members and following supervisors instructions
- Various other site tasks
- Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 2 years experience in construction
- Valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstact
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Ability to lift over 50lbs
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Active listening skill considered essential.
- Ability to work as a team as well as with little supervision.
- Ability to take and follow instruction.
- Professional and courteous demeanor when dealing with the public.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual

**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

- Construction: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
