As a Team Lead, you move from being responsible largely for your own work, into a role that sees you expanding your duties to include the care and development of the Merchant Experience Specialists (4-8) who report to you. You use your experience and expertise to help your team understand and meet/exceed their expectations while developing their own knowledge and skill set. Most importantly, you are their immediate manager, consistently working to support and guide their growth and development. Helcim’s future Team Lead could be in your group of Specialists, it is your job to recognize strengths and weaknesses where they exist, provide feedback, and challenge your team to ensure those who can be more, have the opportunity to show it.

**Typical Duties**
- Lead by example. You are a mentor to others, they will be looking to you to understand the company values, mission, acceptable behaviours, standard for work, etc.
- Take responsibility for the growth and development of your team, including the provision of timely feedback (24hr rule) and having regularly scheduled 1:1s.
- Set clear expectations and look for ways to provide challenges to your team members to ascertain who is capable and willing to do more. You are consistently working to develop promotable team members.
- Recognize and address where training is required, including suggesting training sessions with the company trainer where a structural issue exists.
- Dealing with conflict when needed and holding team members accountable when they do not meet expectations.
- Champion the vision of the company, and help us get there with a creative and critical approach to continual process improvement. Bring concerns, solutions and ideas to your management team. Not many things are set in stone, almost anything can be made better

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in business, office admin or related field is considered an asset
- 1-3 years of experience in a Team Lead position or similar
- Proven ability to creatively problem solve
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time-management skills and organizational skills
- Proficient with G Suite (Gmail, GDocs, GSheets, etc)
- Intuitive, self-motivated and positive
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, combined with strong interpersonal skills
- Past experience in a technical customer service position and sales is an asset
