Bluegrass Nursery, Sod & Garden Centre, one of Calgary’s largest suppliers of landscape products is seeking outgoing, reliable people to operate a sanding truck performing snow and ice control. This position has the potential to evolve into a full-time position in the spring and summer delivering sod or bulk products.

**Class 1 Sanding Truck Drivers**

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Efficiently and effectively operate a sanding truck with a belly blade and do snow removal within the City of Calgary
- AM & PM shifts required
- Must be available as needed
- Keeping accurate and up-to-date log books and other records
- Performing daily equipment checks and maintenance
- Loading and securing loads to be delivered, ensuring the load is placed appropriately
- Interacting with customers and ensuring good customer service is provided at all times
- Delivering a variety of soils, mulches, sod and trees to locations within Calgary and surrounding areas (Spring/Summer)

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Class 1 Driver’s licenses must be able to provide a clean driver's abstract
- Experience with tandem, sanding truck with belly blade and the sanding unit, and loader experience would be an asset
- Available to work on-call for snow removal with the potential of becoming full-time for the spring-summer season delivering products to customers
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a courteous manner with dispatch, fellow drivers, General Manager and clients
- Must have good knowledge of Calgary and area street systems and be comfortable maneuvering large vehicles through tight residential areas

**Experience**:

- Driving: 3 years minimum (required)
- Wages to be determined based on license class and experience

Licence:

- Class 1 driver's License (required)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: $23.00-$30.00 per hour
