**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Sorts, processes, and loads materials to customer specifications using mobile shear, mobile material handler, and thumb and bucket excavator.
- Sorts and manage materials into organized piles
- Loads and unloads materials from various bins, dumps, trailers, and rail cars.
- Assesses situational risk and mitigates safety and environmental concerns.
- Performs minor maintenance tasks such as lubrication, blade alignment and tensioning.
- Participates in the development and design of processes.
- Assists in the analysis of process improvements and development of solutions.
- Gains awareness of and contributes to implementing industry best practices.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- 2+ years related training or experience operating different types of excavators, material handlers, and other heavy equipment such as wheel loaders.
- Prior experience with scrap metal recycling, operating a shear attachment or demolition would be a definite asset.
- Mechanical aptitude coupled with strong hand/eye coordination.
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Safety conscious.
- Flexibility with work shifts and ability to travel occasionally.
