Victoria, BC Local Union 1598 is **seeking a Material Handler/Carpenter Apprentice for the Shawnigan Lake School Project.**

Apprentices earn a percentage of the Journeyperson rate with established increases determined by completed work hours and schooling.

**Must be in the Victoria area and have reliable transportation to get to site to qualify.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials in designated areas
- Ensure accurate inventory counts and maintain inventory records
- Prepare materials for production by retrieving and delivering them to the appropriate workstations
- Assist in loading and unloading materials from trucks or other transportation vehicles
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks to move materials within the warehouse
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar role preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Note: Must have a vehicle and valid drivers license to qualify.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 1 month

**Salary**: $26.40-$28.60 per hour
