**WHO WE ARE**
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was established in 1999 as an international independent agency to lead a collaborative worldwide movement for doping-free sport. As the global regulatory body, WADA’s primary role is to develop, harmonize and coordinate anti-doping rules and policies across all sports and countries. Our key activities include: scientific and social science research; education; intelligence & investigations; development of anti-doping capacity; and, monitoring of compliance with the World Anti-Doping Program.
**POSITION OVERVIEW**
As a member of WADA’s Communications team, the French Reviser will be responsible for revising Agency-wide content translated from English into French. The incumbent will also be responsible for coordinating the translation workflow of departments through the use of automated translation tools and, when needed, translation service providers, to ensure harmonized, high-quality translation and revision. The French Reviser will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Agency’s translation glossaries to optimize the use of automated tools.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Revise and proofread texts translated from English into French;
- Plan, coordinate, and prioritize the execution of translation, and revise work in line with the organization's strategic and operational priorities;
- Build and manage relationships with internal teams, translation services providers, and external partners;
- Act as the in-house expert regarding the development and maintenance of translation glossaries to optimize the use of automated translation tools.
**MAIN CHALLENGES**
The field of anti-doping is complex, and includes regulatory, scientific, legal, medical, and other technical expertise. With English and French being WADA’s two official languages, the organization strives to ensure high-quality content in both languages, including harmonization of terms as it pertains to translation.
**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**
- Fully bilingual with ability to seamlessly transition between French and English (fluency in Spanish would be considered an asset);
- 5+ years of experience in a revision, copyediting or proofreading role - preferably for global French audiences;
- Undergraduate degree in French, communications, journalism or related;
- Experience in project management;
- Experience in coordinating projects with translation services providers and other stakeholders;
- Proficiency with translation tools;
- High level of independence, discretion, and attention to detail;
- Sound organizational and interpersonal skills;
- Periodic work in the evening and/or on weekends
