The **Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation (GBGHF) **is the philanthropic partner of the Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH). We partner with donors and the community to drive innovation and empower GBGH to deliver exceptional health care for the residents of North Simcoe.

As the permanent full time **Community Giving Officer (CGO) **you will expand community engagement and support for GBGH in North Simcoe. The **CGO **is a vital member of the Foundation team who will drive revenue generation in support of the community engagement strategy. You will be the lead for annual fundraising efforts including Monthly Giving, Team Giving, Heartfelt Thanks and Business Cares. In this role you will work collaboratively with the Communications Officer on a fulsome Partnership Events and 50/50 Lottery strategy.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Build and drive growth of a portfolio of prospects and donors at various stages of development.
- Utilize highly proactive identification and qualification strategies i.e. data mining etc. to identify untapped sources of revenue and expand prospect pool to a build donor pipeline.
- Leverage a strong understanding of donor stewardship and its importance to strengthen and deepen donor relationships.
- Employ various fundraising tactics to advance portfolio performance including personal solicitation, direct marketing, cause-related marketing, community events, peer-to-peer, and crowd funding; and build knowledge of trends in community and digital fundraising.
- Generate and execute donor calls independently and with volunteers in support of Foundation metrics and goals.
- Participate in prospect clearance and review sessions with the Foundation team to mitigate duplication of activities and ensure relationships are advanced holistically.
- Work on Raisers Edge to maintain donor/prospect records, actions/moves, call reports and leverage data to maintain and grow Community relationships.
- Work collaboratively with other portfolios in the Foundation fostering learning, development, and teamwork while working towards shared objectives.
- Managing and reporting on portfolio budgets.
- Cultivate strong professional relationships with GBGH staff and volunteers to support Foundation activities and contribute to the GBGH Team Giving Circle strategy and execution.
- Develop and convey priorities and hospital key messaging in a donor centric manner when authoring letters, discussion documents and/or proposals.
- Act as an Ambassador and attend community events and activities as required, positively representing GBGH Foundation at the hospital and in the community at tours, gift celebrations, plaque unveilings and other events.
- Maintain a high degree of motivation, teamwork, and work ethic consistent with the employment philosophy of the Foundation.
- Participate in cross training in other job functions as required.
- Maintain donor confidentiality and protect GBGH Foundation operations by keeping information confidential.
- Adhere to the AHP and AFP Code of Ethics and Donor Bill of Rights.
- Be an ambassador for GBGH and the GBGH Foundation.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to attend and support off-site events/meetings in the community.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Leadership Team.
Job Requirements:
- Progressive fundraising and/or sponsorship and/or sales experience with a history of closing gifts or sponsorships that support community engagement activities and partnerships.
- Passion for healthcare philanthropy and community-based fundraising. Experience working in a healthcare related and/or not-for-profit environment is considered an asset.
- Ability to employ both traditional and creative fundraising techniques to identify prospects and establish trusting relationships with prospects and donors who sometimes approach philanthropy in a nontraditional manner.
- Experience with community event and P2P fundraising.
- Collaborative team member with the ability to build productive relationships and networks of support with diverse audiences.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills (virtual, phone, in-person).
- Awareness of and sensitivity to the various cultures represented in North Simcoe along with a commitment to inclusivity, diversity, equality and accessibility.
- Compelling writing skills with the ability to tailor messages to a variety of audiences.
- Experience supporting the fundraising success of volunteers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment requiring flexibility and adaptability to meet deadlines and targets.
- Excellent organization, planning and time management skills combined with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills and experience with fundraising databases. Experience with Raiser’s Edge a definite asset.
