Reporting to our Payroll Manager, the **Payroll Analyst** is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and its related administrative tasks & functions in accordance with company policy and federal and provincial/territorial legislative and regulatory standards. The Payroll Analyst must have a high-level of analytical, problem solving and time management skills. You’re a team player who is passionate about your job and loves our brands what you will do
- Perform the payroll processing of Redberry payrolls.
- Complete accurate and timely remittances to government agencies, garnishment agencies and other third-party vendors as required. Including but not limited to: CRA, RQ, CNESST, WCB/WSIB, benefit vendors, etc.
- Answer and resolve any payroll inquiries and where appropriate, escalate to the Payroll Lead
- Initiate and transact in payroll and pay-related workflows in UKG Pro
- Perform and assist in any necessary reconciliation and balancing activities to result in accurate employee payroll payments, general ledger postings, vacation plan administration as well as periodic and year filings/reporting (e.g. RL-1, T4’s, T2200’s, GL interface)
- Assist in identifying process gaps, areas of process improvement and establishment of procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency of payroll administration
- Review, process, issue and amend Record of Employments for Redberry in accordance with payroll regulations by prescribed deadlines
- Assist in data clean up and compilation of historical data records to maintain accurate payroll records and records history in UKG Pro to enable accurate business reporting and analytics
- Provide pay statements, year-end forms or other reporting requests to internal and external stakeholders where required
- Assist, lead or coordinate tasks related to payroll projects and initiatives where necessary
- Perform any other duties as requested by the Payroll Lead or Payroll Manager
- Provide consistent, timely and accurate payroll services to internal and external Redberry stakeholders
- Identify and/or investigate ways to leverage UKG Pro (or any other available system) to improve processing or administrative efficiencies and raise to HCM team for resolution
- Foster collaboration within and outside of the payroll team with various teams to facilitate accuracy and efficiency in payroll processing by promoting adherence to procedures and deadlines what you need to perform in this job
- Undergraduate degree in a related field (or equivalent experience) performing payroll administrative functions for an employee base of 1,000 or more hourly and salaried employees.
- A PCP designation or working towards the achievement of same is an asset.
- Experience working with UKG Pro not required, but is considered an asset
- Generalist payroll knowledge and experience in a corporate Payroll/Human Resources
Department with emphasis on multijurisdictional (Ontario/Quebec/Manitoba/Alberta) legislative compliance
- Able to thrive in self-management in a fast paced, resource limited, work environment.
- High-level of analytical, problem solving and time management skills to effectively produce accurate and meaningful financial information.
- Model the qualities of integrity, reliability, and credibility.
- Ability to maintain employee privacy, confidentiality and discretion in all activities related to administering payroll, benefits, and HR electronically, manually (securing paper files) and verbally.
- Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication utilizing a variety of mediums to ensure consistent, timely messaging in a multi-unit, geographically disperse environment.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend sometimes-complex correspondence, instructions and memos.
- Bilingualism (French/English) in an asset.
