**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Machinist**

**Purpose**:
The Machinist is self-motivated, and results driven individual who is organized, analytical with exceptional communication and team fostering skills. As a Machinist, you are committed to providing attentive support for internal parties, ensuring consistent, efficient operations according to Girotti Machine standards.

**Critical Success Factors**:

- Excellent working knowledge of standard machining practices
- Strong mathematical aptitude
- Willingness to participate and support other aspects of the organization
- Able to excel in high pressure situation

**Overall expectations**:

- Trained in ISO 9001-2015 and N299 requirements and standards
- Experience with machining techniques using machinery including but not limited to manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, horizontal boring mills, hand and power tools etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manual specifications or sample parts
- Proficient in job planning and execution including but not limited to programming, setting up, operating and basic maintenance of machinery and machining centres,
- Accurately verify dimensions of machined parts to specifications using precision measuring equipment
- Perform special projects in support of the organizations business objectives
- Report all issues to Manager and/or QC as required
- Actively engaged in mentoring trainees and apprentices
- Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives
- Further develop and enhance company culture
- Perform other duties as required by Supervisor

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Preferred Machinist Apprenticeship Program, General Machinist Certificate, or relevant experience (grandfathered)
- Experience with 2D CAD/ 3D Modeling & CAM software considered a major asset
- Capable of physical demands including heavy lifting with assistance.
- Proficient in reading and writing English

**Reporting Relationships**:
The position Machinist reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Pay: $19.00-$35.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Machining: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- machinist red seal certificate (preferred)
