**Position Overview**:

**Requirements**:
- Child Youth Worker Diploma from a recognized community college
- Minimum 5 years experience in the child and adolescent mental health field
- Sound clinical knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis
- Previous experience in assessment, crisis intervention, and the planning and development of therapeutic programming in an acute care inpatient unit or day hospital/transitional unit setting
- Provide crisis assessments in the emergency department on night shift
- Proven excellent communication (English oral and written), and interpersonal skills dealing effectively with clients and family, team members and the community
- Excellent knowledge of community resources, participating in liaison and referral
- Demonstrated ability to function as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and relevant legislation
- Exposure to Lean principles, an understanding of methodologies and tools and a commitment to the use of these in support of providing the best healthcare experience possible to our patients
- Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area.
- Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public.
- Demonstrated pattern of good attendance
