Back Up Caregiver

This family is seeking a back up female caregiver for when their current caregiver is not available to assist an older adult in Downtown Montreal, QC H3H 2H2. Care will be needed in a non-smoking home with no pets. Two references and a background check will be required prior to hire.

**Position Details**:Start Date**: As soon as possible, pending a successful interview **Location**: Downtown Montreal, QC H3H 2H2

**Schedule**: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; 2-hour shifts starting between 8:00-9:00 AM and ending between 10:00-11:00 AM. (May increase in the future)

**Rate**: $22-$25 per hour (negotiable based on experience)

**Responsibilities**:

- **Mobility Support**: Prioritize walking with a walker
- **Personal Care**: Assist with incontinence cleanup
- **Companionship & Stimulation**: Engage in conversation, accompany on walks, light yard work participation, and provide reminders (e.g., medications)
- **Health Encouragement**: Promote healthy eating habits and adequate hydration
- **Light Housekeeping**: Tidy a small 1-bedroom condo

**Requirements/Preferences**:

- Bilingual in Mandarin and English (REQUIRED)
- Proven experience working with older adults
- Caring demeanor and the ability to patiently support individuals who may be reluctant or resistant to care
- Understanding that client needs may evolve over time
- Female caregiver due to personal care needs
- First Aid & CPR certification required
- Having a car is ideal but not required
- We are not an agency: Wellthy provides Care Coordination services to families nationwide. A part of our services includes presenting caregivers to our members for potential hire. Caregivers are hired privately by each family and are not hired by Wellthy (Job 120066)._

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
