**About Ending Violence Association of BC**

The Ending Violence Association of BC (EVA BC) is a dynamic, solutions-based provincial non-profit association that trains and supports close to 300 anti-violence programs and cross-sector initiatives across BC that respond to gender-based violence (GBV) including sexual and intimate partner violence.

The programs we support include BC’s Community-Based Victim Services (CBVS), Stopping the Violence Counselling (STVC), STV Outreach (STV ORS) and Multicultural Outreach (STV MORS), and Sexual Assault Services (SAS) as well as a number of community coordination and prevention initiatives.

**Position Overview**

Reporting to the Director of the Community Coordination for Survivor Safety (CCSS) Program, the Manager of Policy & Projects is responsible for managing projects and policy-related initiatives. This position requires the ability to create and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including EVA BC’s membership, community and system partners, and government. The Manager of Policy & Projects is part of the CCSS team and communicates and liaises with staff and contractors as needed.

**About You**

**Overview of Key Responsibilities**

**Planning & Aligning**
- Manage and/or participate in the planning, facilitation and management of various initiatives including training and projects CCSS is involved in
- Work with the Director of CCSS, and others as needed, to develop positions on legislation, policy and program issues on an as needed basis
- Oversee the implementation of EVA BC’s Advocacy Strategy
- Develop and contribute to the development of written resources such as program guides and training materials
- Stay informed on issues, research, policy, and legislation in the field of gender-based violence
- Work with the Director of CCSS to write funding proposals

**Communication**
- Contribute articles to EVA BC’s ReachOut newsletter
- Develop funding deliverables, including reports
- Represent EVA BC on various external committees for issues concerning anti-violence workers, community coordination, and gender-based violence

**Training**
- Contribute to training projects as needed, including developing in-person and online training curricula and materials; facilitating training; and evaluating training for continuous improvement
- Contribute to the development and delivery of training on community coordination, ICAT and TPR

**Collaboration**
- Be an active contributing member to the overall work of EVA BC, taking a teamwork approach, whatever tasks may be required
- Maintain relationships with EVA BC’s members, community and system partners, and other key stakeholders such as government
- May support staff, students, and contractors as needed

**Other**
- Stay updated on anti-violence and feminist issues, using a gender-based lens with relevant policies, and inclusion principles to effectively communicate EVA BC’s goals and initiatives
- Stay informed on issues, policy, legislation and best practices that may affect or impact the areas/projects being managed
- Support other tasks and work as needed

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in the area of gender-based violence with a focus on intimate partner violence and sexual violence
- Bachelor’s level by way of degree or combination of experience and training
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and initiatives, ensuring project deliverables and timelines are achieved, in accordance with the project plan and budget
- Demonstrated excellence in written communication including experience developing briefing notes, bulletins, and other resources as needed,
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with key stakeholders, organizations, and cross-sector partners to develop and deliver resources that meet the needs of diverse communities and sectors
- Demonstrated understanding of gender-based violence, trauma, and the impacts of trauma
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, public policy, and best practices that relate to gender-based violence in BC and other jurisdictions
- Experience working directly with survivors of gender-based violence, communities impacted by GBV, and and/or community-based anti-violence workers an asset
- Knowledge of BC's Community-Based Victim Services, Stopping the Violence Counselling and Outreach, Multicultural Outreach, and Sexual Assault Services programs an asset
- Knowledge of Interagency Case Assessment Teams (ICATs) and Third Party Reporting (TPR) an asset
- Ability to work from a survivor-centred, trauma-informed, intersectional, gender-inclusive, anti-oppressive perspective, informed by the ongoing impacts of colonization and a commitment to reconciliation
