Job Overview:
JAX Builders is an experienced commercial and light industrial general contractor based out of Calgary Alberta. Willingness to travel for work will be a huge asset. We are building in many towns, cities, and regions in Western Canada, and we are looking for an experienced, organized Superintendent that can successfully take on multiple projects with different scopes of work.

Experience with full building and site construction is an important asset. Experience building restaurants would also be a positive. Taking a vacant lot through site servicing, foundations, structure, finishes, parking lot completion, and close out/occupancy, is exactly what we are looking for. JAX Builders is busy, and we are looking to hire on the experienced site super, so together, we can both get to the next level of success in our industry
- Efficient management of all site activity including trades, suppliers, consultants, city inspectors, own forces, and owners.
- Scheduling of all site activity and trades working on project sites.
- Identify issues and conflicts in drawings, form RFI’s in the field and answer/solve problems before delays are experienced.
- Prepare in advance for work on site by procuring materials in advance of the scheduled work activity.
- Maintain safety records and ensure compliance to JAX Builders Safety program by all site staff and subtrades.
- Work alongside the Project Manager to deliver projects on time, on budget and safely.
- Complete daily logs and ensure records are kept and submitted to the office in a timely manner. We will provide the system
- Complete daily sign in sheets, daily logs and look ahead schedules. We will provide the system
- Obtain building occupancy and pass all project progress inspections by the jurisdiction’s inspection department. A strong knowledge of Alberta and Canada building code is a must.
- Work alongside the Project Manager and provide information for PO’s, Subcontracts, Site Instructions can be issued in a timely manner.
- Carpentry and Labour skills will be required. JAX Builders typically hires “working site superintendents” as our projects will often require the Superintendent to pick up the tools and jump into the day’s action. Door hardware, backing, skid steer operation, soils work, furniture package installs, minor framing and some light demolitions are common tasks that our Site Superintendents would be expected to take on and help with.
- Knowledge with soils work, compaction, excavations, concrete form & placing, rebar, wood framing, metal structures, paving, and finishes (exterior EIFS, Siding, Roofing, and interior drywall, tile, finish carpentry, millwork, ceiling systems, electrical, and mechanical) are required.

Pay: $29.69-$56.31 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
