_Personal Support Worker (PSW)_

**About us**:
Respite Nurses Agency is a private and locally owned home care company, that offers in-home respite, home care, and nursing services to all ages from 0 to 99+. We recently opened our first 24hr respite home in Garson, On where we offer up to 7 days of respite care as well as summer programs for children with special needs and daily programing for children.

We listen, plan, and connect you to the proper supports and people to care for your individual needs.

**Position summary**:
We are looking for PSW’s to join our team and be part of our staffing for ongoing opportunities both in home and at our Garson location.

**PSW job duties** **(include but are not limited to)**:

- Provide in-home visits and manage each child's unique needs as per care plan (i.e. activities-of-daily living, such as hair care, shaving, cleaning teeth/dentures, bathing, bed bath, dressing, assist with mobilization activities, toileting and/or commode needs, medication reminder, etc. )
- Required to be able to meet all physical and mental demands involved in the client’s care (lifting, bending, repetitive tasks, etc.)
- Provide light cleaning duties i.e. dusting, washing floors, vacuuming, bedding, laundry, caring for houseplants, taking out garbage, tidying living space, washing and drying dishes, kitchen cleaning and caring for pets
- Manage difficult behaviors and/or complex circumstances with resources

**Qualifications/Criteria's**:

- Experience working as a PSW (Certificate)
- Must have valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Advanced oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks
- CPIC with vulnerable sector check within the last 6 months
- Valid First Aid (level C) Certification and CPR (asset)
